Garage Services: Vehicle Servicing, Repair and Maintenance

CAR SERVICING:

Typically, there are 2 types of main servicing:

Service A (major service): 10,000/12,000 mile service or annual service.
Service B (minor service): 6,000 mile service or interim service.

Exact details of mileage schedules and work undertaken does vary depending on the make and model of vehicle.

We will quote you for your service as accurately as possible. However, please be aware that certain checks cannot be made until we see the vehicle and therefore additional costs, such as brake pad or cambelt replacement, or other non standard changes or repairs may incur an additional charge. We will always advise you of these additional requirements and charges before proceeding.

COMMERCIAL VEHICLE SERVICING:

The same principles apply as with car servicing. Please note larger commercial vehicles will incur a higher labour rate.

MOT:

We are a class 4 MOT station and bookings are by appointment only, although this can be by request.
We test vehicles up to 3,000 kg DGW. Diesel and Catalysts tested.

OIL AND FILTER CHANGES:

We offer a small engine service to most vehicles of which oil and filter can be replaced as a minimum. The under bonnet levels and anti-freeze strengths will also be checked.

Modern vehicles need specific oils in their engines and we will consult the technical data to ensure we only fill your engine with the correct oil.

BRAKE SERVICING AND REPLACEMENT:

This is an extra service added to all servicing, but can be provided as a single job. In our opinion, modern vehicles need a 'wheels off' inspection at least annually. Modern non-asbestos brake linings are much harder than before and this increases brake disc wear. It is not unusual to replace front brake discs at 30,000 miles. We will always replace brake pads when new discs are fitted.

CLUTCH SERVICING AND REPLACEMENT:

Clutch and manual gear box servicing and replacement can be carried out to most models as we have 2 ramps and a drive on pit in our workshop.

AIR CONDITIONING AND RE-GAS:

We carry out air conditioning service and re-gassing to most vehicles up to 10 years old. Our air conditioning service includes visual inspection of external components, the removal of old refrigerant and a vehicle specific vacuum of the system. This removes any moisture which can cause problems. Oil will be added when the correct amount of refrigerant is loaded back into the system, with a dye if there is any suspicion of leakage. Cabin and pollen filters and receiver driers can be changed at additional cost.

TYRE FITTING:

We supply and fit tyres of all sizes with up to 2 deliveries a day. Our modern machinery allows us to fit tyres up to 22 inch, also including light commercial sizes.

VEHICLE FAULT DIAGNOSTICS:

Our comprehensive diagnostic suite will communicate with most cars and light commercials.
